Feels good to be home.

I am so excited that I am coming back to Skinny Intern, but this time I'm bringing a friend, Holly Gowers. She is an incredible make up artist and hair stylist living in Miami. You can often find her rushing from photo shoot to photo shoot and hoping on jets back and forth between Miami & NYC. She's your all around hard working fashionista who is taking the beauty industry by the balls (for lack of a better word). Together we make a pretty awesome team! After a brief side project, I am so happy to say, "IM BACK!!!"

Sunday's at the Standard are like Heaven on Earth.

Last Sunday afternoon, I headed to the Standard in Miami for their infamous pool party, and as always, it was a blast! Once I arrived, I headed straight over to the bar, where I sipped on the most delicious cocktails, perfectly mixed with the one and only, Kanon Vodka. I chose to stick with the Standard Strawberry Tea, it was my favorite out of the three specialty drinks that were listed. What can I say, as the day went on the festivities got crazier! There was a mix of unicorn riding, good tunes, sexy swim suits, and I met some really kick ass people.

Deux Lux is the way.

Lately, I've been on the look out for the most perfect, yet affordable bag to tote around this spring. Once I saw Deux Lux’s spring/summer 2012 collection, I fell in love. Now, I just needed to decide which one to get… easier said than done. Below are some of my favorites. The line is fresh, it's colorful, and playful. And who doesn't love a sparkle or a stud here and there? :) I love them all! Which bag would YOU choose?

Fake a Bake

I’m pale. Like suuuuuuuuuper pale/sun tan challenged. It definitely doesn’t help that I wear jeans to my outdoor photo shoots, so my upper body is “tanner” (hard to believe) than my lower body. I know you’re probably thinking, “Why doesn’t she just go outside and get some sun?” Well, I don’t A. want to get cancer, B. want to get premature wrinkles, and C. have time. But I found a solution—-Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs! It says it’s for the legs and feet, but I used it all over my body, and it rocks. There are three different shades: shimmer, medium, or deep. I bought medium. It’s water and transfer resistant, has little to no smell, and is super easy to use. For best results, exfoliate your skin first and shave your legs. Rub a light-weight lotion on your skin. Place a towel down on the floor to protect it just in case. Spray directly on your skin or in your hands and rub on your skin. Work in smaller sections because it dries quickly. Add more if you’d like a darker color. Wait 60 seconds before you get dressed. It has a beautiful shimmer and washes off with soap and water. Love coming home and finding a package at my door step. I opened it up and I found this super cute Kensington crop top, sent to me from www.sugarlipsapparel.com. I loved it so much that I put it on immediately!! :) The shirt looks amazing with high waisted denim shorts. Ashley . Elite Models

Hiiii ^_^ Holly and I worked a test shoot with 17 year old model, Ashley Milino. She is represented by, Elite Model Management in Miami, and she is leaving soon for the big apple. She was such a pleasure to work with! I love that she was full of energy, totally sweet, and showed a strong dedication to her future career in modeling. She says she works out EVERYDAY and eats one hundred percent healthy, without any cheat days. In the previews it looks as if it was a hot sunny Miami day, but the water was absolutely freezing!
Keeping it rrrreal classy, two lychee martinis please! We had to treat ourselves after an easy successful day. XOXO Kristin & Holly

WOO SPRING BREAK!

In honor of all the spring breakers keeping traffic seriously backed up and stumbling into every 7-Eleven on the beach for a, “O.M.G… Giant Slushies!!” Ive put together this must have affordable swim wear guide to keep you looking amazing for spring break, no matter how messed up and wild you may get. “ANOTHER LEMON DROP!!!” P.s. Kianna Stupakoff, is 14 years old and she just did a five day shoot for Abercrombie, photographed by Bruce Webber in Islamorada. She has only been modeling for six months, but its safe to say its in the genes. She comes from a family of models and photographers. Here are some snap shots found on Holly’s phone from working with Kianna recently on a test shoot. GORGEOUS!!!

Varelli, a local love.

I LOVE living in south Florida. You get the best of so many worlds, amazing weather, incredible art, impeccable fashion, hidden treasures, and its all rounded up into one beautiful sunny paradise. Liliana Aguilera flew across my radar while I was taking a quick peak at the often visited site, the Daily Candy - Miami. I often think to myself that I should feature more local designers and such, so, consider this a start. Liliana's jewelry designs for her line called, Varelli, has won me over. Even the names she has chosen for each piece is just perfect. Pieces from the Rainbow collection have such darling names, I Believe in Dreams necklace, Never Stop Shining earrings, and the Lucky Me bracelet.
