Another night, another fashion show.
The fashion shows never get old, they are always a lot of fun. Each show is a totally different experience. You never know whats going to happen or who your going to meet. Last night I wasn't in the show but i was there to support Allison. Who by the way is pretty much the star! When we were standing back stage last night waiting for the show to start, i reminded her of how nervous she was for the very first show she did and to now look how far she has come. We were having a great time and Allison wasn't nervous at all , i mean come on she does so many of these now how could she be... that is until we saw who was sitting in VIP. We were standing about a foot away from Timberland! Were such dorks, we got so excited and we couldnt stop staring. He left before the fashion show even began so there was no way we could get a picture with him.

How awesome is that? Basically, If I understand correctly she has to go to NIKE sales meetings and wear the NIKE apparel. She said its kind of like a Casual runway show. Sounds easy enough.

When I was invited out by my boss to go to a fun dinner with all the models I didnt know that it would involve work... I guess I should have seen it coming. I had to plan everything last minute! I had to call everyone and invite them to come. I didnt think that anyone was going to come because so many of the girls had plans already. Much to my surprise , everyone came! I wasnt even the first to arrive. It was such a nice restuarant. Everything was very girly and fancy and it was nice to just have a dinner with all the girls. Everyone got a long and seemed to be having a lot of fun. Allison and I were just so grateful to be there. Everything we get to do is truly amazing. We never plan for these things to happen and some how they just fall into our laps. Although it was kind of lame having to plan it all and get all the models to go out to dinner, I had such a great time and it reminded me of how awesome my job is.







plus... it was all FREE!

so living in the model apartments... is it really that great?

I was talking with one our models today and she was telling me she has been surprised by an unexpected model being in her model apartment on more than one occasion. She said today that when she left her apartment she remembered turning the light off to her bathroom... when she got back from shopping she noticed that the bathroom light was on. She went into the bathroom and there was a random girl standing in there doing her hair! The random new comer introduced herself and explained to the model currently living there that she was her new room mate. We constantly have girls coming in and out of town so this happens a lot. Imagine living some where and not having any control over who is going to be your room mate. Never knowing when someone would just come through the front door with their suit cases. Imagine not being able to understand the person you live with because of a language barrier...

By the way , models have the heaviest and biggest suit cases i have ever seen! :P

I was actually in this fashion show! why? because im just that cool. haha

We had to model Lingerie and at first i was like "no way, im not doing that " and then when i saw what it was i was like "psh i can totally do this!"Im so glad i sucked it up and did the show.

It was so much fun and it was amazing to do a fashion show with Allison and Sara anne.

I tried i really did. I mean I put forth my best skinny intern skills and could not get into the victoria secret fashion at all... I was so close so many times! So many people I knew had tickets and back stage passes and they ended up not even using them! I cant believe that. Any time anyone would mention the show I was all ears. I wanted to go so bad. I at least wanted to go to the after party.

So many celebs were here in miami. Paris hilton/P didddy/Mariah Carey etc.

ugh i really missed out. I guess I can just watch it on tv though...

So... I went to a modeling convention. It was weird. Especially when I saw an agent there that I remember from seven years ago. Yes he was one of the agents at the model search i went to when i was younger. Honestly its really weird that I'm now a modeling agent. I always thought it would be cool to be one but never knew how to get to this point and some how it just happened. right place at the right time.

Its kind of sad being at the convention though because everyone has such high hopes and dreams of being a super star and a model but for majority of them its just not going to happen. You see girls cry and get all nervous... you see some people that get call backs from every agency. Its an interesting experience.

Im going to Destin, Florida for another model scout convention. I will be all on my own representing MC2. Im actually really excited about it though because I get to get away for the weekend and I get to take Allison of coarse. We are going to have a suite at a really nice hotel and Destin is a really nice place.

Ive been so busy. Right now is the time to be in the business. The season has definently picked up!

I love meeting all the new models and clients. I love seeing Allison get booked for jobs and im glad to finally feel as if im getting respect around the office.

runway here i come...

this week i have three maybe even four fashion shows in like 5 days! so exciting. the runway is freaking awesome. its so fun going up there and having all eyes on you. scary but fun :) kristin in coming with me on friday and then we are going to party!!!!!! yea i love clubbing! its my favorite. so if your not busy Friday night come and join us. u can watch me down the cat walk and party with the skinny intern girls. (which btw is freaking the best time you could ever have duh!) Test TEst TeST

Thats really what models should be doing if there isn't any work, unless the model already has a strong portfolio. Sometimes a new photo in a model's book equals a job with a client. You can tell when a model hasn't updated his/her portfolio in a while. Also the more tests the model does, the more practice he or she gets.

Sara Anne is a Model we signed a couple of months ago and she has taken it into her own hands to meet with photographers about doing Test shoots. This is really great because she is getting a lot of practice and a lot of great new images for her portfolio. She is definently a go getter! By her doing all of these photoshoots she is also networking and making connections , not only for herself but also for the agency. A normal week for Sara anne does not consist of laying on the beach waiting for a phone call from her booker, it actually consist of her doing as many shoots as she can. She is always shooting! She has had a shoot almost every day for the past two weeks.


Skinny Intern: "What would you say is your favorite thing about modeling and doing test?"
Sara Anne: "Everyone is relaxed. Everyone WANTS to be there and the focus is on obtaining a beautiful image that everyone is proud of."

I have to tell you about the shoot I was on last sunday!

It was amazing. Even though I wasnt the model, It was great to sit back and watch.

The model was from New york and is with MC2 and she is actually the owners favorite :P

I think that the pictures turned out great! Not only was the photographer amazing but the creative team was also fantastic. It was nice to get to sit and watch another model do a shoot. Everyone is different so its really cool to see how someone else does things.

Lately my job has been setting up test for models with photographers. I'd like to think that I have a good eye for talent and know who is good and who isn't but obviously the others in the office dont always share the same opinions. Sometimes I will love something and they will hate it. I think that I would do better in New york. I really dont think that the Miami style of photography really appeals to me. There is so much more than taking a picture of a model in a swim suit laying the sand. I just think thats boring.

"My boss even went to the extent of saying... its okay you'll catch on. One day you will know whats good and whats not." WHAT!? I mean I dont want to sound arrogant or anything but I think I have great taste for what is good for a models book and which photographers are worth our while.

In other news... Its getting really busy at the office.

There was a casting yesterday where the client came in and set up all these lights and a back drop and the models had to come in and audition for a video. I think it was something for sports illustrated. It went really well.

Although I love my job Its still really hard and I feel everytime i start getting the hang of it , i make a mistake...

It finally happened. On Friday I was sitting at work and it was almost the end of the day when one of the bookers whispered to me " hey there is a casting that you should go to" I was like what? haha I cant go to a casting... im here at work and I dont have a book. Him saying that was so unexpected. He was like you can go to the casting after work, make yourself a book and a comp card here. I was still very hesitant ... well that is until my boss left. haha

It was time to go and I rushed to make myself a portfolio and a comp card. I wasn't even nervous because Ive been wanting to go to a casting for so long. I got in my car and speeded on over to Ocean drive and called my friend sara anne ( who is another model at MC2) to tell her that I was coming. Once I got there I met up with sara before actually going in for the casting. She told me that they were most likely looking for a brunette because they had only spent a minute or two with her. I was so ready! I went into the casting, showed them my book and tried to start a conversation with them. They seemed to like me a lot and they took my picture and everything. Of coarse I'm not expecting to get the first casting that Im sent on but it was a great expierence and I wish that the agency would give me more and see the potential in me... for now I'm just the skinny intern.

Im so heart and soul into this business ...
