To get Kristin's Nylonesque cool girl hair, sprinkle No Drought Dry Shampoo by LUSH into the roots of your dry hair to absorb any oil and to add volume and texture. Section the hair and curl all over, flip-flopping the direction of the curls to create more of a messy, carefree look. Break up the curls with your fingers, then spray with Sea Spray by LUSH to further break down the curls. Lightly blow dry your hair. Flip your hair upside down and spray with hair spray and tousle the hair. A deep side part is highly recommended.

Add a little extra sparkle to your eyes with Glitterati Violent Eyes by Violent Lips. Glitterati Violent Eyes is a temporary "tattoo" covered in attention-grabbing glitter. The tattoos are easy to apply and last up to eight hours. The best way to apply them is to start with a clean eye. Trim the tattoo to fit your eye using the guide for cutting. Remove the plastic coating and carefully apply along your lash line. Very important: sure that your wings are even on both sides to prevent lop-sided eyes. Wet the paper part of the tattoo with a damp cotton ball or cotton swab. Wait until the tattoo starts to adhere to the eye lid and gently pull the paper away. It helps to use a tweezer for this step. Once the paper backing is off, use a damp cotton swab to seal the edges of the Violent Eyes. You can now apply your eyeshadow and mascara to complete your look. If any eyeshadow adheres to your Violent Eyes, use a damp cotton swab to clean the tattoo.
*If you did not get close enough to your lash line with the tattoo and there is skin showing, you can fill it in with a similar color of gel liner or eye pencil for a seamless look.

Luxury brands deserve luxurious products--Holly Gowers

Here is my most recent work on Gilt Groupe for Dolce and Gabbana starring the lovely Paulina Wyka with Women Direct in New York.

  

I first prepped the skin with Gorgeous Facial Moisturizer by LUSH.  Gorgeous provides the perfect base for glowing, radiant skin with the most delicious scent of fresh oranges.  I then applied a light mist of Face Atelier Ultra Matte.  It's a silicone-based formula that diminishes fine lines while eliminating unwanted shine.  I mixed the perfect shade of Face Atelier Silicone Foundation for Paulina which I applied with a synthetic bristle brush.  

I used Face Atelier Concealer under her eyes and in any area that needed a bit more coverage.  I set the foundation with Face Atelier Loose Powder in Translucent.  Since we were staying true to the brand, the Art Director of Gilt selected a makeup/hair look fit for Dolce and Gabbana: the Tuscan Sun-Kissed Look.  I used Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in 02 Cognac Sable on her eyes, Tom Ford Wild Ginger Lipstick for the perfect pout, and dusted her entire face with Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in 01 Gold Dust.  I finished it off with another mist of the Face Atelier Ultra Matte to set the makeup.

Love Your Locks

Summer is almost over, and it's a good chance that your locks have paid the price for your fun in the sun. Before you transition your golden highlights into warm, rich tones for fall, show your hair some love with an at-home deep conditioning treatment. Here are a few of my personal favorites:

Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask
Kérastase Masque Oléo-Curl Intense (Great for dry, wavy to curly hair.)I recommend shampooing your hair, then apply a generous amount of treatment from ends to roots. Thoroughly coat your hair then wrap in clear, cellophane or put on a shower cap. Next, put a warm towel around your head to further activate the conditioner. Leave it on for at least 30 min. Rinse and style as usual.

Ocean Drive: Splurge

Technically I should be in bed right now since I have to be up in less than eight hours, but I'm trying to calm the butterflies in my stomach after my makeup splurge today. 
Tomorrow I have a shoot with Ocean Drive Magazine for their annual Swim Issue out in July for Miami Swim Week. I'm doing the makeup for the cover and the swim story. I am so excited! I probably can't go into detail regarding the inspiration for the shoot, but I can tell you that it's a throwback; and the model will be wearing swimsuits. You're just gonna' have to wait. Listed below are the new products that I felt I simply could not live without. I mean, no one should.

Stila Custom Color Blush Self-Adjusting Coral: Kinda' self explanatory. It's like a mood ring blush.
Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in Kitten Shimmer: Beautiful champagne shimmer. Not too pink. Not too gold. Just right.
Stila Smudge Pot in Black: For the perfect winged eyeliner...or double winged eyeliner. Shhh! No more hints.
Too Faced Royal Oil Coconut Oil Body Bronzer: Drop what you're doing and buy it. Seriously. Go.
MAC Amplified Lipstick in Impassioned: Beautiful, creamy hot/neon pink with a hint of tangerine.
MAC Eye Shadow in Antiqued: The perfect bronzey brown. My favorite color in the world.
MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy: A shimmery brown, easy to blend eye liner. My favorite eye pencil in the world.
LUSH Eau Roma Water Toner: Okay. This product is only for me. I ran out of Celestial lotion and needed a sample to tide me over for a bit. I didn't want to seem cheap, so I bought this. It smells pretty freakin' spectacular. (fresh rose petals and lavender)
