To get Kristin's Nylonesque cool girl hair, sprinkle No Drought Dry Shampoo by LUSH into the roots of your dry hair to absorb any oil and to add volume and texture. Section the hair and curl all over, flip-flopping the direction of the curls to create more of a messy, carefree look. Break up the curls with your fingers, then spray with Sea Spray by LUSH to further break down the curls. Lightly blow dry your hair. Flip your hair upside down and spray with hair spray and tousle the hair. A deep side part is highly recommended.

Add a little extra sparkle to your eyes with Glitterati Violent Eyes by Violent Lips. Glitterati Violent Eyes is a temporary "tattoo" covered in attention-grabbing glitter. The tattoos are easy to apply and last up to eight hours. The best way to apply them is to start with a clean eye. Trim the tattoo to fit your eye using the guide for cutting. Remove the plastic coating and carefully apply along your lash line. Very important: sure that your wings are even on both sides to prevent lop-sided eyes. Wet the paper part of the tattoo with a damp cotton ball or cotton swab. Wait until the tattoo starts to adhere to the eye lid and gently pull the paper away. It helps to use a tweezer for this step. Once the paper backing is off, use a damp cotton swab to seal the edges of the Violent Eyes. You can now apply your eyeshadow and mascara to complete your look. If any eyeshadow adheres to your Violent Eyes, use a damp cotton swab to clean the tattoo.
*If you did not get close enough to your lash line with the tattoo and there is skin showing, you can fill it in with a similar color of gel liner or eye pencil for a seamless look.

"Give Me The Glitters"

New City, New Products _ Holly Gowers

My latest discovery...ORIBE, the luxury haircare for the hair  obsessed. 
The name alone speaks for itself amongst those who have ever used or heard about the line.  I've now been using Oribe on set and on my private clients for the past month, and I don't know how I've ever worked without it.  The packaging is beautiful, the scent is intoxicating, and the performance is impeccable. 

My top picks, and how I prefer to use them:

Dry Texturizing Spray:  Adds texture and light hold to the hair.  Effects similar to dry shampoo.  Spray ~8 inches away at the roots of dry hair.

Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray:  Medium hold that's great for curling, adding waves, or smoothing hair.  If curling or adding waves, spray on dry, sectioned hair before styling.  Adds a beautiful shine to the hair. 

Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray:  Adds texture and light hold to dry or wet hair for the perfect beachy look.  I love to use this on dry hair before I add waves to the hair.  After I spray on a nice amount all over, I dry the hair with a blow dryer before I section the hair and curl it.  Since this product already has a slight hold to it, you may not need to use any hair spray before you curl the hair.  It's also great if you're transforming polished wavy/curly hair to more relaxed/lived-in hair.  Spray all over and finger dry the hair with a blow dryer to break up the curls.  

Foundation Mist:  I loved using this product to refresh hair during a long shoot.  Lightly mist all over hair to reset.  Let air dry.  I found this spray especially helpful when I had to transform a model's hair from big and voluminous to tame, wavy hair with no flyaways. 

Sculpting Cream: Great for wet or dry hair.  Gives the hair light/medium hold and adds texture.  This product is perfect for shaping short hair.  I use this on myself every time I style my hair.  It smooths the hair shaft, creates texture and depth, and adds a beautiful shine.  Once it's applied and the hair is dry, it's very easy to finger-tousle the hair for a cool, relaxed look. 

Shampoo and Masque for Beautiful Color:  Protects your color from fading and your hair from harmful UV rays.  Paraben and sodium chloride-free.  Safe for keratin treated hair.  Leave the masque on for ~15-30 minutes.

Supershine Moisturizing Cream:  *my ultimate favorite* 
A light-reflecting cream that moisturizes dry, damaged hair.  It will make your hair manageable and baby soft no matter how much abuse you put it through.  :)

Falling for Dark Lips

It's officially Fall, and it's time to trade in your candy-colored lipsticks for more sophisticated, sultry shades.  

The key to perfect this look is to keep the focus on the lips and leave everything else minimal.  My favorite way to wear this look is to perfect the skin with a tinted moisturizer topped with a light dusting of powder on the t-zone.  Contour the face: the cheekbones, around the forehead, and under the jawbone.  Lightly fill in the eyebrows, and apply mascara.  I prefer brown mascara for a softer look.  A liquid highlighter (Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in Kitten) on top of the cheekbones and on the inner corners of the eyes is a beautiful touch.  

Apply a dark shade of lipstick to complete this vampy look.  Dark plum, maroon, deep red, and brown are all perfect colors.  Keep it modern and undone by applying the lipstick with your finger tips to ensure soft edges, or apply it directly from the tube and soften the edges with a cotton swab.  Blot lightly with a tissue paper and reapply for long-lasting lips.  If desired, top with a creamy lip balm such as Smith's Rosebud Salve.

Back from the Road.

Hi guys!

I just made it home from my crazy road trip to Alabama & Illinois. It was a really great time, but I'm so happy to be back in Florida and out of the car! Road trips are cool and all, but they would be so much better if I had a big hippie van with a bed in the back.

As for Holly, she's staying in her NY apartment for a couple of months. She will be down in Miami off and on for work, but in NY she's working on a really exciting project... wish I could share more details, but you'll just have to stick around to find out.

See and Be Seen kit by, Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I couldn't survive this year's summer with-out my, See and Be Seen kit by Anastasia Beverly Hills. Several post ago, I blogged about the amazing Lash Genius water proof top coat mascara that I recieved and fell absolutely in love with, but now I have even more to share with you all. The See and Be Seen kit is chock full of summer beauty must-haves. In fact, the beauty products within this kit make a great transition into fall. 

First off, the kit comes with an eyeshadow palette that creates the perfect shimmery summer eye without going over the top. Caked on eye make up at the beach isnt so cute. Just sayin. ;) 

The kit also comes with two different shades of lip gloss that are exclusive to the See and Be Seen kit.  "The hydrafull gloss in Plastic and Heiress moisturizes and conditions your lips while leaving you with a lasting wash of ultra-bright waterproof color." My favorite color is called, Plastic. The Makeup Artist and The Madness

Suck in your guts and take care of your toes ladies because Swim Week is officially here. In less than 24 hours the first show for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Miami will take place, and yours truly will be one of the participating makeup artists. 

Lisa Blue is the first designer to display her collection, and it appears to be one monster of a show with 43 (!!!) models walking the cat walk. Normally shows have between 15-22 models.

MBFW Swim takes place in Miami from July 19th to the 23rd. It's by the same crew as NYFW, so you know it's gonna' be good. Expect to see beautifully tanned, tall goddesses with curves that kill. As for the beauty department, beachy, wavy hair and beautiful sun-kissed makeup will dominate the runways.

CHEERS!!! Happy B-day to meee!!

Yesterday was my birthday, and let me just start off by saying that it was one of the best birthday's I have ever had. Thank you to everyone for all the lovely b-day wishes. This year is going to be a great year and I have to say that I have grown so much since last year. It's so important to surround yourself with good people and live with adventure.  I gotta thank Holly for doing my hair and make up and for making me look and feel super gorgeous and happy. She is so creative and I am amazed by her talents.  Tap42 in Fort Lauderdale is the best place to chill with friends... I've taste-tested every specialty cocktail on the menu and they are so delicious! The Lucky-lychee is my fav. YUM! Also, Tap42 has the BEST veggie burger around. Hands down. It could satisfy even the toughest carnivore.

On my way to jail! (to film, of course)

Lately I've been running on an average 4 hours of sleep and multiple coladas. (colada is a Cuban-style espresso with TONS of sugar) For the past three days I've been working 17 hour days doing hair and makeup for a new tv pilot for Univision called "El Rostro de la Ventana". I'm the only gringa (non-Latin person) on set, so I've been practicing my Español. It's quite humorous to say the least. I hope you enjoy my pics because I sure did enjoy making them.

After reading Kristin's recent blog about having difficulties removing waterproof mascara, I had to follow it up with my favorite way to remove makeup. Pond's Cold Cream. This is one of the few products that I buy at the drugstore. (I'm a makeup snob.) I've been using it for as long as I've been wearing makeup, and I'm a true blue fan. It removes EVERY trace of makeup and leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh. Use a soft tissue or toilet paper and dip it into the cold cream. Gently rub it over your makeup to remove it. Repeat this process until no traces are left. I only use Pond's Cold Cream on my eyes and lips, but it may used all over the face if you'd like. Once my eye makeup and lip color is removed, I proceed to wash my entire face with my cleanser of choice. I highly recommend that you try it. It's inexpensive, and you're going to love it!
