its electric.

After painting my nails fun electric colors that reminded me of the 90's I felt like showing off this editorial styled by the lovely Katie Shillingford. The two go hand in hand with how I feel right now, bright and playful! Although these photos remind me of a time when I was super crazy about dying my hair bright orange and pink in "like" the fifth grade, I'd like to think now that maybe my mom thought I was being some-what innovative instead of a complete weirdo. How could she let me out of the house with hair like that... on second thought after seeing this editorial I might be tempted to bust out some sort of cropped neon t-shirt or swing by the nearest American Apparel.  Now all thats missing is some glow sticks and this model is ready for a rave.

I feel like Roberto Cavalli might be suggesting a bit of a 90's vibe too by using these cold vibrant colors for his Spring 2010 campaign.

Sexiest picture.

Abbey Lee Kershaw - Muse #20

last days in the city.

What is there not to love about this editorial. It is so beautiful. I love the styling and with New York as the backdrop it couldn't get any more perfect. The big yellow jacket is brilliant. I love the pop of color.

out with the old...in with the new

The new Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2010 campaign says bye bye to Madonna (Dolce & Gabbana's new girl) and makes room for a more sensible choice, (rolls out red carpet) super model Lara Stone. Who was only thought to be perfect when Marc Jacobs decided that he wanted more of a modern, iconic model who was still very sexy and beautiful. While continuing the Louis Vuitton theme of the New Traveler, Marc Jacobs decided to throw in a little peace and love vibe into the mix. I love it. When I daydream and Fantasize about fashion it totally looks like this, doves flying about and beautiful models lying around in grassy meadows.

Everyones doing it...plus size models

V Magazine SNEAK PEAK.

Terry Richardson teamed up with V magazine to shoot the "One size fits all" editorial for The Size Issue for January.  Featuring top plus-size model and author of “Hungry” Crystal Renn alongside newcomer—and more traditional model body-type—Jacquelyn Jablonski.
Richardson’s photo spread showcases Renn and Jablonski side-by-side in identical looks, matching sample size outfits and similar poses. Still, the effect is a powerful one that proves fashion can flatter any figure. Most recently Renn—who has walked the runway for Jean-Paul Gaultier and graced the cover of American Vogue—famously penned her own weight and body image struggles within the model industry in a memoir entitled “Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves,” which was released this fall.

Jacquelyn: 5 ft, 9 in; 32/24/34
Crystal Renn: 5 ft, 9 in; 36/31/41

Crystal Renn is looking so hot showing off her curves! she's always a great example for other girls who struggle with the pressure of being unrealistically thin.

GORGEOUS! New campaign for Lavin's spring 2010.
"You may have noticed how in high fashion the more you look drunk and silly, the better it gets !?" -OhLaLa  I couldnt have said it better myself.

CHANEL JUNKIE

Karl Lagerfeld’s Vol de Jour: a short film
I love that every scene in the film could be stopped and used as photograph. Everything is going video now. You can shoot video and still have the choice of turning it into an editorial. Its catching on fast and I like it. Of coarse we all know how  much I love to shoot video so I'm very excited to see this happening and maybe a little bias. Remember the Calvin Klein ad's that Steven Meisel did, same concept.

Okay okay, back to the Karl Lagerfeld short film. Staring the notorious Lara Stone (favorite model) and sidekick Baptiste Giabiconi, the two put a new meaning to the song " you can have whatever you like..." Love the boots he is wearing during the clip of 2:09. Too bad they didnt  keep the Chanel bike through out the entire film.
Oh beautiful people leading beautiful lives...

My styling experience at LF

I just discovered my new favorite store. I already knew about LF, but it wasn't until Thursday night when I got the true LF experience .  Tis the season for cheer,  so LF threw a holiday bash and invited Skinny Intern for some holiday fun. Let me just start by saying that this is not your everyday retail store. Its more like stepping into your best friend's closet and turning it into a shopping experience, that is if your best friend happens to be Jeffrey Campbell. Everyone who works there was super cool and they were all really eager to get me looking like an LF girl.

"When we put the clothes back we don't even try to fold them or put them away too neatly because we really want it too look and feel like some fabulous closet."

Before I knew it I was in the dressing room trying on some of the coolest items in the store. All the employees are really on top of their game when it comes to the latest in trends. They dressed me in some really incredible outfits and everything that they had me try on I fell in love with, even this really cute polar bear hat. I could hardly resist, the amount of self-control that I had to have was almost unbearable. I wanted to take it all home! My favorite look was the tulle cream colored skirt with the cropped wolf t-shirt, so cute! I love mixing girly with edgy and this is the perfect place to find stuff like that. Needless to say, I left with a smile on my face and I can't wait to go back. You can go to any LF store to get your very own stylist experience. Just come in and shop around and anyone there will help deck you out in the most fabulous finds of the season. You can even make an appointment so that you know you are guaranteed that one on one time.

XOXO

GL Factory

I've been meaning to blog about him for quite some time and with him having 10 editorials out this month and two in the new issue of Zink, I think now is a good time. Gary Wood has been out on the scene for a while now, but his work is always something new and refreshing. The most common thing I hear when people see his work is "...how did he do that?!"  His work is really amazing. Im always excited to see what he's going to do next.

Want to see more?! CLICK or follow him HERE.

time to play.

Shadow Play collection . Heather Goldberg

If I didn't truly believe in someone's work and talent then I wouldn't post about it. I first heard of the collection through a friend who asked me to check it out. He went on to tell me that all the necklaces were handmade out of organic and naturally dyed yarns. Even the hangtags are made from recycled paper. Once I saw the necklaces for myself, I fell in love!

Taking inspiration from oceanic aragonite structures, planetary space, crystal formations, spider webs, and the concept that jewelry can be soft and ethereal, Shadowplay embodies the spirit of all things mystical.

GET THE SKINNY!
Heather Goldberg is debuting her collection tomorrow in NY from 6-8 p.m.

And guess what... YOUR ALL INVITED.

.. if only Alexander Wang could be MY best friend...

Is this his apartment or office?

I wish the SKINNY INTERN desk was this incredible. My magazine collection is getting there though!
